Over the coming month I’ll be posting all kinds of articles to help you figure out what you want along with tools, techniques and inspiration to help you achieve it, whatever “it” is for you.
But before I delve into motivational tools or inspirational theories and philosophies to help you attain your desired state of “being”, I felt it was important, particularly at this time of year, to reflect on the fact, that sometimes, just being is enough in itself.
As we move into a new year, full of resolutions and plans to make ourselves “better” people, maybe what we really need to say to ourselves is, “Hold on! Maybe I am good enough, just as I am!”
As I say this, a video that I watched by Brene Brown towards the end of last year, springs to mind. With warmth and humour Brene takes us on a tour of human nature, highlighting the importance of vulnerability and concluding with the message of “I am enough”.
Maybe this is the year to open up to vulnerability, stop trying to be everything, stop beating yourself up for failing and appreciate yourself for what you are already. You are already enough! What a peaceful thought!
